Why Trust Ahon
By Engr. Ronald Rei Declarador — Published: October 21, 2025 · Last updated: October 21, 2025
Ahon is a Filipino trail running brand founded in 2015 by Atty. Aldean Philip Lim and Engr. Ronald Rei Declarador. We started where it matters—on the trail. Our gear is built from lived experience on steep, hot, and humid terrain, not from boardroom assumptions.
- Filipino trail brand since 2015; founded by trail lifers Ronald Declarador & Aldean Lim.
- Field-tested on Rizal ridgelines, Baguio pine trails, Bukidnon peaks, and the Corterra Eco Reserve.
- Three tiers for PH conditions: MaxVent (Base), Super Light (Race), Ultra Light / Pro (Peak).
Built by runners who’ve been there
Our founders are early ultrarunners and endurance athletes from the era of TNF100, BDM102, H1 (Hardcore Hundred), and international races like UTMB/PTL. That history shapes how we choose fabrics, fit, and construction—because the trail is unforgiving, and Philippine heat is its own challenge.
Tested on Philippine terrain
Before any piece reaches you, prototypes live on the climbs we actually run: Rizal, Baguio, Bukidnon, and Corterra Eco Reserve. If a fabric fails here, we don’t sell it. Simple.

Clear about where we build
We manufacture in the Philippines and with select overseas partners when it improves performance or reliability. Either way, everything is field-tested in Philippine conditions before release.
We don’t sell what we don’t wear
Match your kit to your climb using our three-tier system:
- Base (MaxVent) — durable, breathable, daily training in heat. Shop MaxVent
- Race (Super Light) — fast, light, quick-dry for most PH race days. Shop Super Light
- Peak (Ultra Light / Singlet Pro / Trail Shorts Pro) — featherweight for chasing seconds. Shop Ultra Light & Pro
Real stories, real community
Beyond gear, we document the roots of our scene through Wala Pang Strava—a pre-pandemic archive of Philippine trail running. It’s part history project, part love letter to the climbs that shaped us.

Transparency: what we retired (and why)
Not everything worked. Our early classic cycling jerseys and Adventure Jerseys (8-pocket, multi-day bikepacking) didn’t resonate and were moved to clearance. We learned, iterated, and applied those lessons to trail-first designs. Transparency builds better gear—and trust.
